The Good - IT

The School has a license agreement with Microsoft and other software companies to provide things such as Windows, Office etc at very low costs. Here's some things that are offered at the Client Support Software Page compared to their prices at Amazon as of Sept 12. The most important one is Office, as many computer vendors do not package Office with computers and being able to get office from SBU for free is great. There's also things like Maple, Mathematica and Minitab for those of us who are math inclined. Get the things you need at the SAC Store after you buy a $5.76 Salami sandwich and a $2.00 bottle of water at campus dining, or visit the Campus Bookstore for the first time and get it there (Because we all go to Stony Books).

SBU's IT department also provides Wireless Access around campus and offers to maintain your computer's software. The university also offers slightly discounted Dell and Apple systems. Too bad they don't have a deal with Lenovo.
